Water Rate Change
Effective February 2013

The City of Corona purchases water for our customers from Western Municipal Water District (WMWD). The City has been advised that WMWD will be raising their rates in January 2013, and it will be necessary to pass-through this rate increase. Also, a cost of living increase (COLA) will be assessed, based on the Consumer Price Index for Riverside County published by the U.S. Department of Labor. The COLA will cover the increase in material, supply, and service costs; salary increases are not part of this COLA.

The rate pass-through from WMWD applies to the commodity (usage) charge and the COLA increases apply to both the commodity and the Ready to Serve portion of your water bill. The change is effective with your February 2013 activity.

The City Council authorized pass-through rate increases through September 3, 2014, on August 5, 2009, by approving Ordinance 3005. The Proposition 218 notice for Ordinance 3005 was distributed in May 2009.
